Amazon have told customers that they can use a Trade-In programme in the UK to recycle their used devices such as smartphones and video game consoles for an Amazon gift card.
The programme is one of the ways Amazon is working to reduce environmental impact and increase the number of devices that are recycled or refurbished, while making purchases for new devices more affordable for our customers.
In addition to Amazon devices, eligible products include a wide range of mobile phones and video game consoles.
How to Trade-In your devices:
- Select the device you’d like to trade-in and answer six questions about its condition
- Print a shipping label and send your device for free within 21 days
- After sending your device and receiving the appraisal, an Amazon.co.uk Gift Card will be credited towards your account
Customers can use the trade-in functionality on both mobile and desktop.
Devices that have been accepted for trade-in are tested and graded to determine their condition, and the device will either be re-sold or recycled. When answering the questions about the device’s condition, customers can also decide how they want to proceed in case Amazon has to adjust the trade-in value, for example, if the condition of the device upon receipt is different than what customers submitted.
Customers can then choose between accepting to receive between the best value and the minimum value, or not to accept the adjusted value and get their device back at no additional cost.
Amazon Trade-In is part of Amazon Second Chance, a one-stop shop where customers can find easy ways to trade-in, recycle or return Amazon products (or buy used and refurbished items). Amazon Second Chance is one of the many ways Amazon is working to reduce our environmental impact, increase sustainability and become net-zero carbon by 2040 as part of meeting The Climate Pledge.Amazon • AMAZON FBA • Amazon News • MAKE MONEY WITH AMAZON FBA • Marketplaces • News • Retailers and Brands News • SELL ON AMAZON
