Updated Amazon Brand Registry enrolment requirements

Share The Knowledge

There is a an updated Brand Registry enrolment process involving two new requirements if you want to enrol in Amazon’s Brand Registry program for the first time or enrol a new brand.

Amazon Brand Registry helps you protect your intellectual property and, Amazon say, create an accurate and trusted experience for customers. Brand Registry enrolment gives you greater influence and control over your brand’s product listings on Amazon and enables you to easily find content in different Amazon stores. Brands can search for content using images, keywords, or a list of ASINs in bulk and report suspected violations through a simple, guided workflow.

The idea is that with multiple merchants selling products, Brand Registry enrolment makes it easy for Brands to find fake listings and also to ensure that only authorised retailers are supplying their products should they wish to do so. Amazon also have automated protections which use information about your brand to proactively remove suspected infringing or inaccurate content. The more information you provide, the better Brand Registry can help you protect and improve your brand experience.

For Brand Registry enrolment, you can use an existing Amazon account (credentials associated with Vendor/Seller Central) or create a new one for free.

NB Amazon currently only accept trade marks that have been issued by government trade mark offices in the United States, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Australia, India, Japan, Turkey, Singapore, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.

New Amazon Brand Registry Enrolment Requirements

For Brands sold on Amazon

If you are a brand owner, you will need to provide at least one image that shows your brand name, logo or other identifying mark on a product and/or packaging. You will also need to provide at least one ASIN for each product category in which the brand is sold.

Amazon say that this will help Brand Registry better identify the brand being enrolled.

For brands not sold on Amazon

For brands not sold on Amazon, there will be an option to self-report product categories instead of providing an ASIN.
